Checked in on 12/18. staying for 4 nights total. got the room on a 3rd party site for about 26 a night. Arrived at about 2PM. they were really pushing the “early check-in kiosk” however the line was not too long and was looking to get this upgrade. i let a couples behind me go as i wanted to get the more happy clerk to better my odds. i then get called out of line by a staff member from the diamond /vip room and was told i could check-in there. walked up to the clerk and told her if there was any comp upgrades available. she took my cards and layed them on the counter with splitting the cards and moving the bill off to the side. she quickly got to work, typing away. i was originally was booked for the old tower and was told there was a room available in the newer tower with a Jacuzzi if id like to take it.
overall great experience for the first time trying it out.
will be doing this moving forward whenever i book.
We came late due to traffic (around 8PM on a weekday). We did not target anyone specifically but we were helped by a middle aged man. We slipped him the sandwich and gave him the “are there any complimentary upgrades” line. He set it aside and said he will see what he can do. He found something for us and told us if we don’t like it, we can come back and let him know. Obviously, we were very happy with the upgrade from a regular queen room to a executive suite with a strip view!
I greeted the younger lady and handed her the sandwich. Asked if there were any complimentary upgrades and when she saw my tip (30 bucks) she quickly put it away and started typing it away. And, HOOK it up! we got tickets for a show. Two champagne bottles and ice cream!
I put a folded 50 on top on my id and credit card, was very open about it. I stepped up to the registration agent, and she greeted me, and I was very upbeat with my greeting back! She asked for ID and credit card and I handed her my stack, and said is there any complimentary upgrades and she click the computer and then said let me go check, she went in the back room and came out and said unfortunately all our suites our sold out. Ill put you in a high floor room. In our updated tower. That is already the exact room I had booked. That to me is not an upgrade. Room is not good, I feel like that was a big waste of $50.00 (btw Im staying 7 nights so I thought the $50 was more appropriate for a lengthier stay) I guess it DID NOT work, ;(
Hello, checked in for 4 days on May 28th, for the first leg of a family vacation where we also happened to be celebrating an important birthday. We had booked three rooms so I sandwiched a $50. The clerk was very nice, sorry that I do not recall her name. She told me that she would be happy to check on an an upgrade and she said that she could upgrade two rooms but not three. She took the $50, completed the check in and off we went to our rooms. Long story short, we all got the same kind of room and it was the same as the room we booked, two queens, with a view of the high roller (not strip view). To be fair, it was Memorial Day weekend, and our stay was for four nights. I’ve read that shorter stays are more likely to receive upgrades. So, in short, we were told that we were upgraded, but we were not and the $50 was not returned. I hope others had better luck than we did.
Checked in late on the Sunday night. Did not have a chance to select a specific clerk as there was only one working at the time.
We booked to Strip view rooms in the Jubilee Tower. We hoped at minimum to get rooms at the top of the hotel facing south to see the fountains.
We ended up on the fourth-lowest floor with one room facing north and one room facing south. We were not offered the chance to get the $20 back.
No go for us this time.
Checked into Bally’s on Sunday Night, April 9th with a 5 night Jubilee Tower King with Strip view. I provided the $20 sandwiched between the CC and ID and asked if any Complimentary Room upgrades were available. Important to note that room was free (except for resort fee) for all 5 nights. Clerk disappeared to the back room for a bit, and returned to inform me that the manager informed her an upgrade to a Jubilee Celebrity Suite was available for $50 per night, but could not be offered as complimentary. I declined. She politely apologized and returned my $20. Given that the room was already no charge, perhaps it was unrealistic for me to assume that they would have upgraded me further without me paying something … not sure as this was my first attempt at the complimentary upgrade, and was working from the odd (I assume) position of asking for a free room to be upgraded for free.
My girl and I booked a standard king strip view room and were upgraded to the Executive King Suite!!(Room 7312) The room had a nice view and a jacuzzi! Much more spacious than the room we originally booked. When the front desk clerk asked for my ID and Credit Card, I handed her the sandwich as my girl friend politely asked “By any chance is there any complimentary upgrades available.” She received the sandwich and separated the 20. She said “let me check”. She typed away as we made small talk. We told her we were in vegas for my bday (which we were) and it was my first time staying on the strip (which it was). She than said “since you’re staying for your birthday we will upgrade your room to a suite with a jacuzzi”. We responded “wow thank you!” I know she upgraded us cause we tipped not really cause it was my bday (but i’m sure it helped) haha. But she was kind and we really appreciated the upgrade. As we walked to the elevator we noticed our room was on the 73rd floor (the highest floor). We were really pleased with the room and took advantage of a nice room, his/hers sinks, small vanity, jacuzzi and a nice shower. These rooms were renovated! We stayed for one night. Glad we tried the trick!
Oh and I made a youtube video reviewing the room and explaining the trick! Please check it out! Just copy and paste the link! 🙂 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hziT7cADSlo&t=33s
We didn’t target any clerk, and we also went in the mindset that this may not work.
We checked in around 3pm on a Wednesday and the line wasn’t long at all. I handed him the sandwich and the guy squeals “oooooh what do we have here?”. I was upfront with him and told him that I “had goodies for him” and he said “hold up” and walked into a room. He came back and apologized for being gone so long. He started typing furiously and said he had an Executive Suite available for us at no extra charge. He was so polite and funny, making small talk. We slipped him an additional $20 after the transaction was complete because he was such a great guy and so grateful for the tip.
We checked in on a Friday afternoon and it was busy. We didn’t get to target a clerk, but the one we got was nice enough. We handed him the sandwich and he began to type furiously. He handed me the $50 back and said that he wasn’t able to offer us an upgrade other than a high room with a view of the high roller because they were having a Seven Stars event at the hotel that weekend and that all upgrades were locked out in order to offer those rooms to those members, which is completely understandable. Even the Sunday brunch buffet was closed to only Seven Stars members. I felt bad taking the money back because it was offered to him as a tip, but he politely declined.
