Tipped:  $20 Upgraded to  Venetan Luxury View  from  Venetian Luxury

Checked in on Friday early(like 10 AM)there was big line ups, and they sent some of us to the next floor up for check in. I was a bit worried trying it on a Friday, after about 15 minutes wait, it was my turn to check in, i slipped the white male clerk the 20.00, he said he would put us in the newer tower(didnt know they had a newer tower?and a nice view of the strip, we got the 32nd floor if memory serves, and if you look out the window you can see the pools and parrtial strip as well as the tiny pool at Casino Royale.
Not 100 percent sure we would not have got this room anyways, but it was lovely, it has a sunken living room(which i guess all the rooms at venetian have), and is quite large.

Tipped:  $20 Upgraded to  Bella Suite  from  Luxury Room

Handed her the $20 with my license and credit card as I asked if there were any complimentary upgrades. She looked at the money, smiled, and said they were available.

Tipped:  $20 Upgraded to  King Suite with AWESOME view  from  Palazio

Main lobby was packed, a woman asked if I wanted to go upstairs to checkin, I said yes. LUCKY! When I got there only one counter person was there. I folded the $20 between my CC and DL, told her I was checking in, asked if they had any upgrades available. She told me that I already had a nice room BUT if I wanted to wait about an hour that she had a king suite with a great view of the strip. She was right! The tip was well worth the view.

Tipped:  $20 Upgraded to  Venetian Bella View  from  Priceline Standard (Venetian Luxury)

Checked in and did the $20 sandwhich. Asked for a non-smoking Rialto (they were listed as sold out on the Venetian website). He told me he didn’t have that available but could get me a Bella View suite on a higher floor. I said that would be great. Also asked for and got late checkout. Would definitely try it again.

Tipped:  $20 Upgraded to  strip view on 31st floor  from  standard suite

checked in at 2:30 on Thursday afternoon. All the check in agents were busy at the main desk so we were called over to “Invited check in” desk by a young guy. Handed him the sandwich – he didnt flinch – simply made the twenny disappear and asked hius colleague about superior upper level rooms. Handed us the room keys for a strip view room on the 31st floor of the main tower in a newly renovated gorgeous suite. Best $20 I spent all week. Loved the buzz of trying the trick too. go ahead try it – you wont be dissapointed 😀

Tipped:  $20 Upgraded to  Bella Suite  from  Priceline-Luxury Suite

I was in town with two girlfriends for a soccer tournament and I REALLY did not want to share a bed, especially on Saturday after three games. I slipped the $20 and asked for the two beds. She put us on the 16th floor in a nice, quiet area, the view was just of the pool. But that view was perfect for us because we were able to strategize from the room before fighting for beach chairs. I’m not sure if we would have had two beds anyhow, but I was happy to give the $$ and guarantee it. She also gave us three keys, no questions asked and checked us in early.

Tipped:  $20 Upgraded to  Priceline Value Rate  from  Priceline Value Rate

Tried the $20 sandwich with a young lady at the front desk. I didn’t ask for an upgrade, but instead merely asked for a room that had a somewhat decent view as my boyfriend is a photographer and would like to take some photos. She didn’t mention the $20 the entire time and seemed friendly so we were hopeful. We got to the room which was on the 6th floor and at the very end of the hallway to find a view of the parking garage and the back end of the Palazzo. What a waste of money! On top of it all, for being at the end of the hallway, the room was incredibly noisy.

Tipped:  $0 Upgraded to  Renovated Bella w/ View  from  Priceline-cheapest Luxury Suite

Checked in early Saturday morning, not crowded at all. Slipped the sandwich, asked for a complimentary upgrade as it was my girlfriend’s birthday. Woman seemed very excited and eager to help out after the sandwich. We asked initially for a Venezia suite but were told that they couldn’t access the other tower anymore (new policy?). Did manage to get us a good Bella overlooking the pools. Could see TI, Wynn, Encore, Circus Circus, etc. Works every time I try it!

Tipped:  $20 Upgraded to  High floor, strip view  from  Priceline

Booked on priceline. Sandwiched the $20. Put us on a strip view high floor (a $45/night value he says). Also gave us a ton of excellent coupons – $25 match play, $20 food credit, free dessert at Grand Lux Cafe, etc. All in all, excellent use of $20

Tipped:  $20 Upgraded to  Luxury Concierge View Suite  from  Orbitz Best Rate Luxury Suite

I slipped him the $20 license and credit card sandwich and asked what upgrades they had available. I also explained that it was our 10 year anniversary, which it was, and he said let me see what I can do. He later leaned forward and whispered “that is my supervisor right next to me otherwise I would have upgraded you to one of our rialto suites!” He still put us up on a much higher floor in an incredible suite! He also gave us a $15 slot play coupon (im sure everyone gets these anyway). overall I feel it was worth our $20 tip. 🙂
