Jackpot! Darby Wood Got A South Point Room Upgrade

Got my girlfriend to slip the $20 to the clerk using the sandwich tip, and asked if there were any room upgrades available. We booked the cheapest possible room, which is a lower level room, but the clerk upgraded us to the 24th floor (In a 25 story hotel) overlooking the strip (which admittedly, is several miles away. Still nice, tho). Also got an extra coupon book, which has some decent coupons. The only ones we used out of the 2nd book was the free drink, and the $25 in slot play. No Dice For John G at South Point...

Did the $20 trick. Stayed at South Point due to a trade show in their facility. Young girl getting ready to end her day and go out with brother for his birthday. Asked about upgrades and was told no upgrades available at the time, but would put us in a nice room. She gladly took the $20. When we got to the room it was obviously a regular room. Luckily we were staying at the hotel while they were working on the hotel, so we were able to hear jackhammering starting at 8am each day. I was going to go complain to the attendant but she had already gone home for the day and had the next two days off. Not sure if I will stay here again.
