No Dice For mike at Rio Suite...

Slid the 20 between the CC and the DL. Clerk took it and i asked for a masquerade suite or a super suite. She spoke with her manager, but came back and said i could have it for 75/night. I just took the room i reserved.

No Dice For Jeff at Rio Suite...

Checked in with a young lady at the front desk. I had the 20 b/t the credit card and the drivers license and asked if she had any upgrades, particularly to a larger suite there. She checked, made a few phone calls, asking someone who I assume is a manager if she could have a free larger suite. I even heard a "pretty please". It was a busy weekend and there was nothing she could do. She gave me back the $20 and I got a high floor with a nice view of the strip and the pool, so not all was lost. Would try it again.

No Dice For salsaking at Rio Suite...

I checked in with a female in her early 20's. I slipped her the $20 with my CC and ID and asked if there were any complimentary upgrades available. She seemed to get nervous and laughed and straight out said "no sorry". She proceeded to check me in normally and I did not receive an upgrade.

Jackpot! wspfan Got A Rio Suite Room Upgrade

Just like the night before, I chatted up the guy and gave him $20. At the Rio there isn't much of an upgrade you can get, but since I had an entire group of guys for a bachelor party, I knew it would be worth it to have this guy on my side. He basically said there weren't any groups of rooms with great views, so we opted to have conjoining rooms and fantastic view of the blinking Rio sign and Prince. All in all it was worth it, just not have to deal with the hassle of having 12 people in 3 rooms.

I strongly suggest (if you can) to try and check in around 2-3pm when they release the rooms.

No Dice For berbbie2005 at Rio Suite...

We stayed at Rio for their $49/night. As i checked in, i asked the lady at the front desk if there are any complimentary suite udgrade since that was my anniversary, i was holding the $20 bill, but the lady told me i have to pay $150 additional for the upgrade, so i just said thanks and kept the $20. While she was doing our reservation(which was reserved and paid a month ago), she called the manager coz there's a code that she doesn't understand...after about a minute, the manager told the front desk it's residential(don't know what it means, but i'm a vegas local tho), then the front desk told me i was very lucky coz i was given a free suite upgrade. She sound very sarcastic like she doesn't want me to get it. I asked her how i got it, she told me they're trying to fill in the one-nighters( i still didn't understand, but a free's a free!). I didn't gave the $20 coz i didn't know if i should...the front desk was sarcastic, and looks like we got the upgrade by luck. The suite was awesome, the 20th floor can only be accessed by the room key. Super big suite, with jacuzzi, steam shower room, and lots of chocolate (i got addicted to this i wanted to go back there just for the chocolate...Le Belge Chocolatier).
