Jackpot! gene168 Got A Planet Hollywood Room Upgrade

Just got back from a 2 night stay at the Aladdin. I checked in at around 3PM at the front desk, and was greeted by a friendly older woman. It was me and my girlfriend's two year anniversary and I mentioned that near the beginning of a little chit chat. Then I took out my wallet as I started talking about how I wanted a nice room to celebrate our anniversary in style, and she said that she would definitely try to hook us up. We were booked for the most inexpensive room in the hotel at $69/night but she told us that she put us in the Strip Suite with a view of the Bellagio Fountains on the 32nd floor. She gave me everything that I needed for the room and she left without even giving me time to shake her hand with the $20 that I had waiting for her. So...I suppose the $20 trick didn't exactly work, but just being friendly was helpful enough.

Thanks for all the tips, everyone! It was a great trip!!!!!!!

Jackpot! New Mom Got A Planet Hollywood Room Upgrade

My husband were in town with friends and family for an event. Everyone left town on Sunday and we decided to stay one more night and splurge on a nice room. We were told the Aladdin had nice rooms so we just walked in, up to the desk, and asked if they had rooms available. They did, and when I slipped him $50, suddenly a high floor suite became available. Our room had a 360 degree, floor-to-ceiling view, two flat screen TVs, one of which was over 50". We had the full treatment from robes and special soaps. there was a whirlpool tub overlooking the strip. Nine months later, exactly, we had our first child, a beautiful little girl. Thanks Aladdin!

Jackpot! Timo Got A Planet Hollywood Room Upgrade

We handled the sandwitch to the clerk and he smiled and asked directly if there is anything he could do for us. We asked for a comp. upgrade to a strip view room. He said he could give us a resort room with strip view. That was a great offer for us, it is normaly $50 more per night, and we stayed 5 nights. Perfect used 20 dollars for us!

Jackpot! Robb Got A Planet Hollywood Room Upgrade
Booked Via Expedia

My wife and I checked in about 10:40pm on a Sunday night. There was no line up and we went right up to the first clerk of three that were standing behind the desk. I asked if our room overlooked the strip and he said no. I asked if we could have a room overlooking the strip and he said he'd check if one was available. After typing furiously on his computer he said he had a suite on the 50th floor if we'd like it. It was a great hotel room, large and a beautiful view of Vegas and at $60 a night we couldn't go wrong. We didn't have to slip a "sandwich" to him nor did we expect anything more than we had booked on Expedia. We just figured we'd ask.. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

No Dice For Chris at Planet Hollywood...

No luck, she immediately told me they "don't do upgrades" and gave me my $20 back. First time in 5 or 6 trips that it didn't work so I was disappointed. got stuck in a crappy room with a hole in the wall, filthy bedspread and hair in the shower. I"m checking out and moving to MGM-grand/"target="_blank">MGM Grand, hope to have better luck there.

No Dice For T-Ronz at Planet Hollywood...

Came up to the desk around noon, there wasn't much of a wait. I was a little nervous about it, but played it cool. I handed the girl the sandwich, and before I could ask for the upgrade, she smiled and gave me the $20 back. She said management is on to the staff giving free upgrades and it is no longer something they can do.

I did get a free bottle of liquor, which I don't thick was part of my original package... But don't quote me on that.

Jackpot! Sans Got A Planet Hollywood Room Upgrade

Time about 6:00pm, slipped a 20 to lady clerk and asked if there were any complimentary room upgrades. She smiled and said she would see what she could do. Upgraded to beautiful room with fountain view - a $215 upgrade. She took the 20 and I took the room key. We were both happy.
