Jackpot! Marie Got A Mandalay Bay Room Upgrade

Hubby checked in while I looked around. We originally booked a ?regular room for five nights with an $89.95/nite promotion deal. We got an upgraded room on the 8th floor with not much of a view, but nice plasma tv and a tv in the bathroom and new, hip furnishings. Unpacked and realized there were no ashtrays in the room (we specifically asked the fellow checking us if it was a smoking room). When hubby went downstairs to use the payphone and ask for ashtrays, he was told it was a non-smoking room and they moved us to an executive suite on the 25th floor, Fiji wing (strip view) Well worth packing up and unpacking again!

Jackpot! Jeff Got A Mandalay Bay Room Upgrade

Checked in at Mandalay on February 8th and tucked the $20 between ID and credit card. Was going to be offered a penthouse room, but since the Mosley fight was in town, none were available. Instead, we were offered a room described as "a penthouse room without the view." The view we got was of the Luxor and TheHotel. The room came with a huge plasma flat screen (40 inch, maybe) in the bedroom as well as a smaller one in the bathroom. 2 brand new queen size pillow topped beds. We were told the room was remodeled 3 weeks prior and the beds were brand new. We also got a few extra keys for the room. Overall, pretty sweet deal.

looked like i would have the perfect male clerk but then this goofy girl waved me over.

anyway, it was the weekend of the avn awards so they didn't have any suites. i had booked at the poker room rate and got upgraded to a nice strip view on a high floor.

Put $20 between ID and credit card and asked for a complimentary upgrade to surprise my wife. She said "Thank you", did some magic on the computer and gave me a very nice, quiet room with an excellent view. Vegas, baby, Vegas!

No Dice For JusRelax at Mandalay Bay...

Reserved the room via Mandalay Bay's website at 99.95 per night, including 2 shark reef tickets, 2 buffets, and 2 spa admissions for 99.95 (great deal, btw). My clerk got switched on me right before I was going to check-in (the other clerk was a girl in her high 20's... I was hoping she'd help out; this next girl I was pretty sure would not help us). I asked for any complimentary upgrades the same way I did at Luxor, and she offered an upgrade to an executive suite for 50 dollars. I passed.

read this thread a long time ago, didn't think I could pull it off, friend offered to fund the experiment. slipped the $20 w/ my CC when checking in, asked if he could 'do anything, or see if there was a free upgrade available' he went to the back and came up a few times, after 10 mins, got upgraded to a suite, and ensured that when the rest of the bachelorette party checked in at midnight they would get the adjoining room that connected to our suite. and he sent for a rollaway bed immediately, we later gave the housekeeping guy $10 so that we could have a total of 2 rollaways. SWEET SUITE!
