Jackpot! mrakman Got A Mandalay Bay Room Upgrade

Well, as everybody says, sandwich the twenty between CC and DL, handed it over, was afraid she would not see it, but she did, and as she saw it, I felt I didn't even need to say anything, she was expecting the words "complimentary upgrade" to come out of my mouth. Confirmed that I did in fact need 2 queen beds (although it makes me wonder if i would have been upgrated to a suite otherwise. Mandalay Bay does not have suites w/ 2 queens, only kings for the more common suites. If you want the 2 bedroom suite, then you are ok for 2 beds). She put the Twenty underneath my ID, started punching, said she set me up w/ a nice room, and as she handed the ID back, i could have swore, the twenty was still underneath, but it was gone. In the end, got 32nd floor, view of the entire strip. Room was amazing, Pools were amazing, overall a fantastic experience. Will definitely try the $20 trick next time.

Jackpot! Nick N Got A Mandalay Bay Room Upgrade

Went up to a 25 – 30 year old male, put the $20 between my ID and CC and asked for a complementary upgrade. He gave me a newly remolded room on the 29 floor with a awesome view down the strip. He said that the type of room is usually $30 more dollars each night, but he would take care of it. Great room, going to try the $20 trick every time I go away.

On checking in I selected the "typical clerk profile" making sure he was at the last position on the desk so his colleagues would not hear. Asked for a Complimentary Upgrade as I handed my Passport with $20 carefully. He immediately saw it and became clearly nervous. Upgraded to a fantastic view, new room with great Stip view. Definately worked.***PLEASE DO NOT PUT THE NAME OF THE CHECK IN CLERK - AS I DO NOT THINK YOU DO THEM ANY FAVOURS BY DOING SO***

My friend handed $20 to the guy at the counter and told him that we were there for a bachelor party and asked if there were any upgrades. He said sure and gave us one of the newly renovated rooms with a pool view. Never had a pool view before after staying at Manadalay multiple times.

Jackpot! Craig Got A Mandalay Bay Room Upgrade

I followed the advice to the letter and slipped the clerk $20 whilst casually asking if there were any complimentary room upgrades. She looked me in the eye and smiled as if she knew exactly what was going on. She asked if it was a special occasion and I told her I was celebrating my birthday (which I was), then she said "I'll be right back". On her return she said she was able to put us up in a luxury suite for the first night, which we were told goes for $5000 per night. The suite was massive and although it was not one of the new-style suites, it was amazing. For the other 4 nights of our stay we were booked into one of the newly refurbished rooms which was also lovely. I am so glad I found this website and hope you all have success in getting your free upgrade.

No Dice For Anonymous at Mandalay Bay...

Clerk checked us in and informed me that there were no upgrades ("suites are full") prior to noticing the tip. She said "But I did give you the newly renovated room which normally costs $20 more a night". However, all standard rooms have now completed renovation at Mandalay Bay so this was not an upgrade. I even asked her about any other items such a pass for us to check out the gym, etc (normally $27 per person/day). Did not provide anything. After she saw the tip she said "Are you sure?" I would have felt silly asking for it back and let her keep it. Not sure how to use the suggested tip if the clerk doesn't pick up the provided ID/Credit Card until after doing most of the check-in portion.

Slipped a $20 between the drivers license and credit card. I asked if there were any upgrades and anything else he could provide. Not a big room upgrade, but we did get 2 free buffets and a free visit to the shark reef. So the $20 investment paid off.

Jackpot! BT Got A Mandalay Bay Room Upgrade

Walked up to the front and said "checking in" as I handed my ID and credit card, I had a crisp $50 right on top clear as day.

I said my last name and said I was hoping there was a complementary upgrade available.

The gentlemen smiled and said Im sure we can come up with something for you. How would a parlour suite be?

I checked in late around 7pm and the hotel seemed busy. I am staying for 3 days so thought $50 would get me better luck and it did ! WOW 2 jacuzzi tubs and 2 bedrooms in a HUGE living room.

The people I met from out of town stayed elsewhere and were actually AFRAID to try the $20 trick...even after my success.

Success! It was way too simple. Slipped the 20 between my license and CC. The nice gentelman (William) told me to hold on a minute while he checked. He went in to the back for about 2 minutes, came back and told me he can upgrade me to the 1,500 sq ft Parlor Suite in the newly remodeled wing. It's got 5 flat screen TV's with 2 in the bathroom. Best $20 i've ever spent.

Jackpot! Mike Got A Mandalay Bay Room Upgrade

I checked for two rooms at 9 am on Friday morning. I pulled the standard trick with the 20 spot. I saw that she noticed the $20 and I then asked if there were any comp. upgrade available. She looked on the computer and told me that all the suites were booked. It didn't shock me because I heard from someone else that the hotel was sold out for both Fri and Sat nights. I could tell that she wanted to keep the twenty so she started to work her magic. She was able to get us checked in 6 hours before standard check in time. She gave us 4 extra keys for our unregistered guest to get into the pool (Mandalay requires an activated key to get into thier awesome pool area.) She also offered comped fridges to be delivered to our rooms (she said that the normally we $20 a day.) A refridgerator was delivered to each room within minutes of our check in time. No room upgrade, but the extra comps and service were well worth the tip.

Jackpot! Justin Got A Mandalay Bay Room Upgrade

Checked in at 7:30pm on Friday night. I wasn't feeling good about the upgrade since Ricki Martin was playing Saturday night and Ice Cube on Sunday. I gave a $20 just like explained and asked if any complimentary upgrades are available. She looked at me and said she would make sure they're were. Our room was very big and had a view of the strip that everyone in our group took pictures of. We obivously very happy.

I was in for my bachelor party, and slipped the $20 in between the CC and DL, per this site's recommendations, and just asked for any upgrades. She was going to do it when my bro sauntered in, and picked up my CC and DL because he didn't want me to pay. The $20 goes flittering away, obvious to everyone. The clerk was still cool about it. Gave us a slightly upgraded room, plus $40 minibar credit. Not great, but better than nothing, and definitely worth the $20.

Jackpot! MROD Got A Mandalay Bay Room Upgrade

Arrived on Tuesday looked for line with a male between 25-30 like everyone suggests. I handed him my credit card & ID with the $20 in between and asked if there were any complimentary upgrades. He told me he could upgrade me to a suite with one king bed and I declined because I needed a room with two queens. I was tempted to get it. He then offered me a newly remodeled room which he stated had only been slept in twice. The rooms were nice. 42in plasma in bedroom and 9in in the bathroom. He did give the room on the 17th floor which is the highest floor with the newly remodeled rooms.

Just like everyone else, slipped the $20 b/t my Credit Card and ID and asked if there were any complimentary upgrades available. She said "of course, we don't have any suites left, but I'll get you something nice". I was satisfied considering I could have been looking at the parking lot, but instead I had a decent room with a full mountain view.
