Jackpot! Liam Got A Luxor Room Upgrade

I approached the check-in desk at 10:30 am, and was called over by a middle-aged woman. I asked her (with a twenty in plain sight) if there were any rooms open at the time, and I was told that I would have to come back at 11 as they 'did not have a list of rooms available'.

I thought I'd failed miserably...I was wrong!

I returned at 11, and found a huge check-in line.

The same female check-in clerk saw I was in line, and waved me over to the 'check-out' line where she was working!

Obviously she knew I had a sandwich...but when I got to the desk I was told it wasn't necessary...she just couldn't do anything the first time because apparently there was a manager nearby the first time I tried to check in.

I gave her the sandwich and asked for a Pyramid Spa Suite, and after a minute she told me they were all sold out that night, then I asked for a Players Deluxe room, and she found one that was ready...and apparently there are only 40 of these in the entire resort, so I thought it would be a long shot!

The players deluxe room I received was a nice renovated room on a floor halfway up the East Tower with a HUGE plasma TV, and a jacuzzi in the bathroom...lovely!!!

Great for $60/night! ($50/night for 2 nights, plus the twenty in the sandwich)

No Dice For Serenitynow at Luxor...

Arrived late at around 1130. Gave her the $20, she returned it saying she wasn't allowed to accept it - was appreciative though. She then proceeded to tell me that they were overbooked and all they had left was smoking rooms. She moved us for the our next to nights to a non-smoking room but no upgrades.

The Andrew Jacksonian got me a suite in the pyramid. But these are only suites because they have 2 rooms, a large bathroom and a wet bar. A high roller room at the Western would be comparable to this thing. Still, it worked and was worth an extra $20 so I could keep the passed out hookers in the ante room.

No Dice For Mike at Luxor...

hotel was busy, stayed during rodeo finals weekend, gave the $20 and asked about a complimentary upgrade, clerk said she couldn't but made sure we got a room close to the elevators (gave the $20 back). She seemed pleased I tried to tip her but I guess they were too booked.

No Dice For Heather at Luxor...

My boyfriend slipped the sandwich and she didn't even look at the $20.00 and looked for an upgrade anyways. Claimed there was none available and that we were already in the upgraded room. . . we reserved a tower deluxe and it wasn't deluxe at all for what we had to pay for it. The only thing she changed was a double to a king. Not really a change at all. No upgrade. We tried :-)

No Dice For todd at Luxor...

She asked for my DL and I handed her the sandwich but before I could ask for complimentary upgrades, she took my ID & DL and slid the $20 back to me. She was the far right attendant, so that might've made it tough, but she also seemed like she wasn't having any of it. I just had success the day before at the Venetian, so I think the key thing is it being a younger attendant. Thanks so much for this site though you guys. It's awesome.

2nd time to work a Luxor. Asked very nice and had $20 between CC and DL. Just asked if there was any comp. upgrades and he said he would try. Didn't know what room I had gotten until we opened the door. VERY nice and great bed..

I was a little nervous at first, because she left the $20 sitting out on the desk; but then we got upgraded to a room with a spa tub by the window.

Came in exhausted from our flight with our bride and groom hats on (on our honeymoon obviously) and our online travel booking agent failed to submit the reservation to the hotel and there was no record we even reserved a room there. Since we had our itinerary printed they gave us a room. The girl didn't say anything just gave us our room key and we went to the top, it had two bathrooms, a living room, two couches, dining room, a kitchen all marble with a gold sink, separate bedroom with shower and separate bath with jetted tub and marble everywhere, soooooooooo nice!!!!
