Clerk knew exactly what to do, upgraded me immediately along with food/beverage credit.

Room in Palace Towers was OK, called it a suite, but a standard room at Wynn was much nicer.

Trick worked but overall the stay Caesars-palace/"target="_blank">Caesar's was only mediocre, place seems too big at times, takes 15 minutes just to get to your room, taxi lines are long, and decorations sometimes cheesy. Not terrible but probably would not stay at again. Would rather pay the extra $ for Wynn.

There was a new clerk training to the immediate right of the clerk I was at. A manager was supervising her and obviously helping her through the process so I tried to be as discrete as possible to the clerk I had. Handed over the sandwich and he asked what this was for. I said I was just looking for a nice room. He said, 'no sir, that's not necessary. I'll get you a nice room' and he handed back the $20. At this point, I didn't know what to feel...was this good or was this bad. He typed away at his computer for what seemed like an eternity. Then the printer started and he got the room keys made. Still feeling nervous at this point. He hands the keys and papers over and says you're in room 2735 or something in the AUGUSTUS tower! As soon as I heard Augustus tower, I knew I scored. Thanked him and left before anyone could stop me! Wished I could have tipped him but I guess he was worried with the manager standing 3 feet away.

No Dice For Dan at Caesars Palace...

Asked for upgrade, gave him a $20 bill. He said no, but we could upgrade for $80 per night. We said no thanks, asked for room by elevator. He gave us the worst room, low floor, view of roof farthest from the elevator, no door in the bathroom. He said he could not be bought because he was 'top notch'. After seeing room, went back to front desk and had another clerk change us. Same tower but top floor, large room, better but not the best by any means. THis guy was a real prick. Good luck.

I initially tried to check in at about 10:30 am but I was told that they would have to see if any rooms were available. So, instead I checked my luggage and came back at 4:00 pm. I presented the clerk with $20 between the credit card and DL and I asked if there might be any complimentary upgrades available for the Augustus Tower. (The "classic room" were had reserved was one of the older and smaller rooms at Caesers.) I explained that my wife and I were celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary. At first the clerk did not think she could do anythign but she kept banging away at the computer for a good five minutes. Eventually she gave me my choice of a smoking room with a king size bed or a non-smoking with two twins. I took the latter. Interestingly, she left the $20 on the top of the counter, as if she did not want to take it. I left it there for her. The room is great. To those who wrote in earlier, thanks for all the advice!

It was very easy. We gave the 20$ under the credit card to the clerk and she only wanted to know if we wanna change. We said no and become the best hotel room we ever slept!! The room was in the 37th floor and was fantastic!

had 2 comped nights, made sure he saw the twenty, and asked for a free upgrade, he said sure and said he gave us a room that was twice the size of what we would have had. we will always at least try. room was very nice!!

This worked at Caesers. Did the 20 dollar inbetween license and credit card trick. Asked if there were any complimentary upgrades and it worked out. Much bigger room in the new tower with huge bathroom. Totally worth it. This really worked! Thanks frontdesktip!

Thank goodness I tried the $20 trick. I arrived at 1:00 a.m. for a conference the next morning, and I didn't know it at the time, but the hotel had overbooked and was telling other late-arriving conference attendees to check in at the Flamingo for the night. I didn't learn this until the next day, because the desk clerk said that there "certainly" was a complimentary upgrade available, made a phone call to someone, and put me in an astoundingly plush five room suite for the first night. I then got moved to a nice standard room in the Augustus tower for the next five nights, which was still very nice.

Technically the $20 trick worked. Checked in at the airport, which I'm very sad to see they're getting rid of, as there was ZERO line.

Little did I know the weekend I was there was Mexican Independence Day, and therefore, the best she could do was a nicer classic room in the Forum Tower, which was "the nicest of the three". Was told it was a $50/night upgrade for nothing. So yes it worked.

Just a warning to those of you staying here, though. Our room in the Forum tower was a NIGHTMARE. The jacuzzi we ended up with, hair dryer, both did not work. The shower was dirty and grimy, and there was sounds of pipes or renovation of some sort that we heard at 12:30 am, 2 am, and also 6 am. Thankfully complaining to the front desk that morning got us a room in the Palace Tower after the person at the desk made a call to her manager.

Will definitely try again, as it did work and there was no confused looks like I was trying to do something foreign.

We had to change the days we were in Vegas for my wife's work. Originally we had a Deluxe Tower room reserved for 2 regular nights. My wife’s work schedule changed last minute and we had to be in Vegas a day earlier. It turned out, the 1st night was the same night of the MTV Video Awards. The town was BOOKED and we had to pay 400.00 for a standard room that night. Well, we decided to do the trick and it worked! We got the Deluxe Tower for both nights! That room was quoted at $600 for the first night. To top it off, we had the greatest view of the strip EVER! I mean postcard view! I suspected this site was created by some smart front desk people but IT WORKS!
