Jackpot! Chris Got A Caesars Palace Room Upgrade

Gave the young man a reception a $50 dollr bill for a upgrade for the 2 classic rooms that we had booked. He asked what rooms we wanted and I asked him for the Augustus tower. He gave us 1 huge room overlooking the pool area and 1 a little smaller with a great strip view. This tip works like a charm will be trying it everytime I am in vegas from now on.

I stepped up to the counter and gave the clerk my last name. As she was looking for the reservation, I asked if there were any upgrades available (still had not handed over the ID, CC, and $20). She said she would see what she could do and confirmed that my reservation was made with the Friends and Family rate. She asked for the ID and CC and I handed it over with the tip underneath. She said thank you and slipped it very discreetly into her pocket. At that point my husband was convinced we'd just lost our money but I was confident. She never told us we had received an upgrade, but she wrote "PT 2326" on the room key card and I knew it had worked! Great room at an amazing rate!

Put the $20 between my passport and credit card and asked if there were any complimentary upgrades and it was apparent that she had done this before. She worked the computer for a few seconds and then put us in a room in the Augustus Tower which is regularly $300 more a night, all for a great bargain of $20. Best money I spent in Vegas!

Worked like a charm!
She set aside the twenty and said 'let me see what I can do for you first.' After clicking away on her computer for about 2 minutes she said that there was a complimentary upgrade available from our Classic room to a deluxe room in the newer Palace tower. This was the best 20 bucks I spent in Vegas! Double sinks, jacuzzi tub - well well worth it. I will recommend this to anyone going to Vegas.
Word of advice: The mini bar is sensored. If you pick something up you are charged for it even if you do not drink it. We had ~70.00 of room charges on our bill at the end of the weekend for moving things out of the mini bar for personal drinks. Do not touch it unless you are going to drink it!!!

Jackpot! Matt Got A Caesars Palace Room Upgrade

First, thanks for the great comments given on here already. I did the sandwich trick with the cute blonde girl that people keep talking about on a Sunday afternoon. She tapped away on her keyboard and asked if I wanted something in the Palace Tower. I told her that I heard great things about the Augustus tower and asked her to check for that one. She said they had both and asked which one I prefer. I told her to pick whichever was the one with the great view - which turned out to be Augustus Tower. Either at this point was better than the default room. So we got a nice room in the Augustus tower with a great view of the Bellagio fountains and strip view.

Jackpot! J. Scallan Got A Caesars Palace Room Upgrade

We booked the cheapest room on Priceline for 5 nights. I was determined to get the best room, so all I did was slip a 50.00 in between my credit card and license and explained I had a reservation. She took my name and asked for my I.D. and a credit card. As I was giving it to her I simply asked if she had any complimentary upgrades as I wanted the trip to be special for my girlfriend and I. She said let me see what I can do and she put the 50.00 bill to the side. 5 minutes later, the best Augustus Tower room, with a perfect view of the strip directly overlooking the Bellagio Fountains. Incredible room... Even better tip! Thanks!

Jackpot! Roger Got A Caesars Palace Room Upgrade

Had a normal 2 double bed room booked, plus extra fees for 2 additional adults for 2 nights. At checkin, I sandwiched a $20 between the ID and credit card. The guy laughed and said, "Oh! A sandwich?" But he was really cool about it. We told him we were celebrating a few of our 21st birthdays, and he asked us what kind of upgrade we would like. I wasn't entirely prepared with what to ask for, so I just told him we'd appreciate whatever he could do for us.

After a bit on the computer, he offered us a suite with extra bedroom for about $20 extra per night. We of course said yes, and thanked him as he finished everything up.

So for about an extra $10 a person for the 2 night trip, we got a huge, amazing suite. I don't think any of us had ever stayed in such an amazing hotel room.

Jackpot! Chad Got A Caesars Palace Room Upgrade

Checked in around 2pm with a decent size line. I didn't have much hope since one of the largest conventions of the year was in town (SEMA) along with the Pro Rodeo tour, Madonna, the start of the final table at the WSOP and UNLV had a football game. The clerk confirmed the hotel was sold out but layed the $20 on his computer and said he would see what he could do. After a quick search he pulled out his room book and showed me that he had upgraded me to the Augustus tower to a room with jacuzzi tub, flat screen and view of the Bellagio Fountains. I couldn't have been happier - $20 well spent.

Jackpot! Gerald Weissbach Got A Caesars Palace Room Upgrade

We arrived at Caesars Palace at 9pm and there was a dozen people waiting in line to check in.
Our package put us in a 350 sq ft Forum Tower renovated room. There were 5 Front Desk Clerks, 3 were female. Knowing that the success rate was higher with male Front Desk Clerks when I got to the front of the line I waived a few couples behind me through saying I was waiting for my wife so I could line up with one of the two male clerks. She had stopped at a slot machine on the way in. Finally it was my turn - nervously walking up I had a $50 bill folded and sticking out of my passport and my credit card on top. When I got to the counter John (not his real name) said welcome to Caesars Palace and was in a good mood, so I gave John the "Howie Mandell" knuckle greeting. He asked my name and while he was punching it in the computer I handed him the passport,$50 and credit card. He took them, and placed them beside the computer and said lets see what I can do for you. I said that it was our 20th wedding anniversary and with 3 couples meeting us in Vegas I was hoping that the Roman Tower King suite was available so I could do some entertaining. From all the researching I have done, I knew that the key things were to 1) younger male clerk 2)folded bill with credit card and ID 3)know the room you want to upgrade to 4) give the reason why 5) be in a great mood while asking for the free upgrade. John said no problem we can put you in that room as an upgrade, and he asked if I needed change from the $50, which I said no. So we ended up in a 1400 sq ft king suite, Strip view, living room, dining room, 2 bathrooms, huge king bedroom, soaker jetted tub and a steam sauna in the sit down shower. The suite was huge and fantastic. Wow it really worked!

Checked in 9pm, no lineup, just took the next available clerk. Girlfriend had reseved forum tower room through Expedia. I tapped a twenty on counter with my i.d. and asked if any complimentary upgrades were available. He explained that the forum tower was a nice room, but yes, he could get us into a augustus tower room, overlooking Bellagio fountains, rm 3170 (about eleventh floor). He took the twenty and placed it at the base of his monitor and checked us in for 4 nights. Happy with the $20 upgrade; bigger room, better bathroom, nice view. Enjoyed the stay, would go back again.

I had a reservation that included a free upgrade. I found out I was going to be in Palace Tower overlooking the pool. However, I asked for a room in the Augustus tower and was given a room 3x the standard room I had booked with a beautiful view of the Bellagio fountain and that end of the strip. Would definitely do this again. Well worth $20 for $800/night upgrade.

We checked in at around 2pm the line was so long I knew for sure we could not possibly get someone that fit the descrip. We had our eye on this young guy who looked like he could very well upgrade us. Finally when it was our turn just our luck we got the rep we had been eyeing. My husband handed him the sandwich said we were already being comped and in the best tower, still gave us a TOP FLOOR room 45th w/view of the Bellagio Fountains, Jacuzzi tub, plasma tv’s. "He said it does not get any better than this" We agreed we completely consider this a success. P.S. he was a professional he hid that $20.00 so fast we thought it was Magic! Good LUCK!!!

Jackpot! Jopy Got A Caesars Palace Room Upgrade

The front desk was nearly empty. We had booked a very discounted room rate (approx $140 a night) for a standard king. We figured we'd be in an old room so it was worth trying. The clerk was very friendly. I handed the $20 between my cc and my ID and said we were celebrating a special weekend and anything he could do to get us a nice room we'd appreciate. He left the $20 on the counter, played around on the computer and even got on the phone for a bit. Then he took the $20, placed it in his pocket and thanked us. He told us he put us in the Augustus tower. The room was beautiful! It had a view of the Bellagio fountains and a fantastic bathroom. It was a great weekend.

No Dice For Kim at Caesars Palace...

I went on a Friday afternoon, the checkin desk had a huge line going past the ropes. It took at least 45 minutes to get to the clerk, when I asked if she had any suites available with the $20 visible between the license and credit card she chuckled and said no, didn't even give me the option of paying for the upgrade. The standard room was horrible: smelled like smoke, burn holes in the carpet, hairdryer didn't work, someone had punched in the bathroom door, hair in the shower, bathroom faucet handle fell off (but screwed back on), no maid service the second day (do not disturb sign on till 1pm), had to call for towels and it took them an hour to deliver them. The food and drinks were very expensive: $4 water, $15 mixed drinks, $15 burger, fries and soda. The only good thing about staying at Caesars was free cover to PURE nightclub but they don't advertise it too much so I didn't find it till the last night. Oh and with the Cher, Bette Midler, Elton John trifecta they have playing at the colasium there were a lot of gay people which could be good or bad depending on what your looking for.

So i sandwiched my 20 in between my credit card and id and asked if they had any complimentary upgrades. Sadly she said no, saw the 20 and smile and told us that we can upgrade to augustus for 80 dollars more a day. We decline...

Asked for Palace Tower Premium @ Diamond Check-in and received it, no problem. The Palace Premium is the room with the dual bathrooms with shared walk-through shower. Recently renovated and had a fabulous view of Bellagio fountains and the Venus pool (in the know are familiar with that scenery).

Jackpot! Jeff Got A Caesars Palace Room Upgrade

Checked in late, put $20 between license and credit card and handed it to the clerk, asking if any upgrades were available. Their computer system was down, so she had to go to the back room to check, leaving the $20 exposed on the counter. Ended up with a room high up in the Palace Tower with a Northward view (with LCD TV and jacuzzi tub).

No Dice For Ross at Caesars Palace...

So I've read ALL sorts of different experiences about the $20 tip, I practiced my lines over and over again. Me and my gf had booked a Classic Room for four nights, cost about $440 + tax. I had my $20 ready. Checked in on Monday around 12:30 pm. No line up. The girl behind the counter sounded like she was a newbie from the way she was talking. She sounded scripted as though she was memorizing her lines and repeating them verbatim. She was very efficient in checking us in and was very courteous. But I didn't get a good vibe and I flaked out, I just asked for an upgrade w/o the tip, she said w/ a smile "No, we can't do that, sorry." So we went to our room, room 1423 in the Roman tower. A cramped, dated, not entirely clean room (the carpet could use a shampoo and the safe could use a scrub for starters) with a view of the highway and the construction site of the Octavius Tower. I was kinda demoralized. It was my first time in Vegas and I was thinking that the world renown Caesars-palace/"target="_blank">Caesar's Palace would have some sense of luxury, even for their more modestly priced rooms. So we unpacked, walked to the Bellagio, enjoyed their buffet, and walked back for a rest before going back out to the Mirage to see Love. So I called up the front desk and politely explained that this room and a view of the construction site wasn't quite what I had expected and if there was a similar room available that might be better. Joe said that it was no problem, that I should come back down and get some new keys cut for the Palace Tower. I'm thinking 'sweet!' So I go to the front desk while my gf packed everything back up and Justin was serving me, he said that he wasn't sure what the view was but I was moved to the 45th floor of the Agustus Tower and that it would be a complimentary upgrade. Definately a better room when we got there! Just turn right from the elevators and we were in room 4577, a wonderful view facing the Strip (North I think) towards Mirage. I would love to go to Caesars Palace again! We were more than pleased with this upgrade! (Obviously)
