Jackpot! Marc Got A Caesars Palace Room Upgrade

My wife and I were attending a conference at Caesars Palace for the company I work for. The company booked roman tower rooms for us and another coworker and his wife. I told my coworker about the upgrade and we both decided to try it out. When we got to check-in I slipped a $20.00 bill between my DL and credit card and asked if there were any complimentary room upgrades for the week. My coworker slipped a $50.00 in and asked the same question. The lady checking us in stated that she would see what she could find. After a few minutes of typing on her computer we were upgraded to a room on the 32nd floor of the Augusta Tower. My coworker got the 36th floor suite for the $50.00. Next time, I'll throw down the $50.00 and get the view of the foutains at Belagio like he did. Still, best $20.00 I ever spent in Vegas.

I arrived at Caesars about 10pm on a Friday night. Working the front desk were two guys and a girl. The line was moving pretty fast, I was relieved to see the person in front of me get the girl clerk, so I knew I would get either of the male clerks. I started to get nervous and had last minuet thoughts of not asking, thinking it would not work. When he motioned me over he had a
smile on his face and seemed to be in good spirits, I suddendly regained confidence. I smiled as I approached and greeted him when I got to the desk. I made some small talk about it being a busy night and the weather. He asked me my last name so I told him, he read me the days I would be staying there, then he asked for my credit card and ID. I had prepared the 'sandwich' while I was in line. As I handed it to him I asked if I could get a complimentery upgrade. He put the $20 on the counter in plain sight and said he'd see what he had available, he punched away on his computer before finally offering a 1300 square foot suite w.a master bedroom/king size bed, a living area and dinning area, two plasma TV's and a jacuzzi. I said that'd be just fine. He said to check out the room and if I didn't like it, to some back down and he'd see what else he could do. When I got to the room I was floored! The room was beautiful and spacious and was beyond what I thought I would be get. Outside our windows was the collisum and we could see the Mirage and TI (it wasn't much of a view, but beggers can't be choosers) It is definently worth the shot to ask. I am convinced that if I would have given him $40 we may have gotten even a better room (like with a view of the strip or fountains@the Bellagio)I will always try this trick no matter where I go!

The only things I have to gripe about is this:
1)I got to the pool @10:45 am on a Sunday and could NOT get a loungechair. For having 3 pools I didn't expect this to happen, guess it really is a big hotel.

2)The food court and snack shops in this hotel is a huge rip off! Everything is marked up at least 3X's it's value. And don't be swayed by the deliciuos looking gelatto in the middle of the Fourm Shops. I bought the second to smallest cup and when they rang me up the total was $18!

3)The maid on my floor just bargged right with her
key numerous times throughout my weekend stay. Even when the privacy alert was on.

4)The goodies in the fridge and on the entertainment stand ARE SENSORED. if you pick it up, when you check out they will try to stick you with the bill. There was an $80 bill just for things we pickd up to look at. When we checked out the lady at the desk was nice enough to waive the fee.

Overall my stay here was wonderful!

Only clerk available at 11:00 at night. Sandwiched the $20 between my cc and dl. Asked if they had any complimentary upgrades available. While he was checking I pointed out that my birthday was that weekend-evidenced by the dl. He said he could upgrade us to a suite. The room was 2 floors with a balcony from one overlooking the other. It had three bathrooms, a full sized bar, a grand piano and a dining table for 8. Lots of marble, 3 steps down into the livingroom. What a great treat!

No Dice For Jeff at Caesars Palace...

There was a long line so we just got the first available clerk. Handed her my DL, Credit Card and a $50 in the middle. I asked if there were any complimentary upgrades available and she looked for a minute and said no, and placed the $50 on the counter in front of me. After asking for at least a change a new tower they did move us to a redone Forum tower room which was very nice.

Came in at 11:50 on a Friday night. Sandwiched the $20 and gave him my DL instead of my husband checking us in since my birthday was Saturday. Asked for any upgrades available and pointed out that it was my birthday in 10 minutes. He said he had a nice surprise for us. We got a 1400 sq foot, two story suite, that we later found was the Frank Sinatra Grand Piano Suite. Yes, it had the piano, a balcony from the 2nd floor over the living room. A dining table for 6, wet bar, grand piano and three bathrooms. A great weekend for $20 extra!

I ended up with a gentlemen in his mid 20's as he was the next one available. I put the $20 between credit card and drivers license and asked if there were any complimentary upgrades. Check in was on a weekday at around 2:30. Room had no view of strip, but it was close to pool area and it had a very nice size bathroom. I had booked the $75 friends and family room rate online.

Jackpot! Justin A Got A Caesars Palace Room Upgrade

Checked in on Easter Sunday, purposely booked the forum tower room because it is newly rennovated in the last few months, so i was anxious to see it, although i was aware that it would have no view whatsoever , the clerk told me i would be getting a much larger room in the augustus tower deluxe room, it was on a corner, with its own doorbell, and had a partial strip view out of one window(could see fountains, Planet Hollywood, etc, etc, or in the other window i could see the Palms partially(the fantasy tower)
we loved the extra space having two kids, i realize this room is only worth 20.00 more per night but it was still technically an upgrade as the room is twice the size.

Arrived at 11:30pm to check in. Sandwiched a $50 between my ID and credit card. The guy immediately saw the tip and slipped it behind the credit card and started typing away. I asked if there were any complementary upgrades in the Augustus Tower and he said he could do even better than that. He handed me my room keys and explained the original room booked (cheapest room through the family/friends promo rate around $75-$100 a night)was 300 sq ft and he upgraded me to a 1200sqft premium room in the Palace Tower with 2 separate bathrooms joined by a shower (with 2 shower heads :) ). I also asked about VIP passes to PURE and he came back with a stack of passes from other clubs too. 50 tip was well worth it!

Gave the young man a reception a $50 dollr bill for a upgrade for the 2 classic rooms that we had booked. He asked what rooms we wanted and I asked him for the Augustus tower. He gave us 1 huge room overlooking the pool area and 1 a little smaller with a great strip view. This tip works like a charm will be trying it everytime I am in vegas from now on.

I stepped up to the counter and gave the clerk my last name. As she was looking for the reservation, I asked if there were any upgrades available (still had not handed over the ID, CC, and $20). She said she would see what she could do and confirmed that my reservation was made with the Friends and Family rate. She asked for the ID and CC and I handed it over with the tip underneath. She said thank you and slipped it very discreetly into her pocket. At that point my husband was convinced we'd just lost our money but I was confident. She never told us we had received an upgrade, but she wrote "PT 2326" on the room key card and I knew it had worked! Great room at an amazing rate!

Put the $20 between my passport and credit card and asked if there were any complimentary upgrades and it was apparent that she had done this before. She worked the computer for a few seconds and then put us in a room in the Augustus Tower which is regularly $300 more a night, all for a great bargain of $20. Best money I spent in Vegas!

Worked like a charm!
She set aside the twenty and said 'let me see what I can do for you first.' After clicking away on her computer for about 2 minutes she said that there was a complimentary upgrade available from our Classic room to a deluxe room in the newer Palace tower. This was the best 20 bucks I spent in Vegas! Double sinks, jacuzzi tub - well well worth it. I will recommend this to anyone going to Vegas.
Word of advice: The mini bar is sensored. If you pick something up you are charged for it even if you do not drink it. We had ~70.00 of room charges on our bill at the end of the weekend for moving things out of the mini bar for personal drinks. Do not touch it unless you are going to drink it!!!

First, thanks for the great comments given on here already. I did the sandwich trick with the cute blonde girl that people keep talking about on a Sunday afternoon. She tapped away on her keyboard and asked if I wanted something in the Palace Tower. I told her that I heard great things about the Augustus tower and asked her to check for that one. She said they had both and asked which one I prefer. I told her to pick whichever was the one with the great view - which turned out to be Augustus Tower. Either at this point was better than the default room. So we got a nice room in the Augustus tower with a great view of the Bellagio fountains and strip view.

We booked the cheapest room on Priceline for 5 nights. I was determined to get the best room, so all I did was slip a 50.00 in between my credit card and license and explained I had a reservation. She took my name and asked for my I.D. and a credit card. As I was giving it to her I simply asked if she had any complimentary upgrades as I wanted the trip to be special for my girlfriend and I. She said let me see what I can do and she put the 50.00 bill to the side. 5 minutes later, the best Augustus Tower room, with a perfect view of the strip directly overlooking the Bellagio Fountains. Incredible room... Even better tip! Thanks!

Had a normal 2 double bed room booked, plus extra fees for 2 additional adults for 2 nights. At checkin, I sandwiched a $20 between the ID and credit card. The guy laughed and said, "Oh! A sandwich?" But he was really cool about it. We told him we were celebrating a few of our 21st birthdays, and he asked us what kind of upgrade we would like. I wasn't entirely prepared with what to ask for, so I just told him we'd appreciate whatever he could do for us.

After a bit on the computer, he offered us a suite with extra bedroom for about $20 extra per night. We of course said yes, and thanked him as he finished everything up.

So for about an extra $10 a person for the 2 night trip, we got a huge, amazing suite. I don't think any of us had ever stayed in such an amazing hotel room.

Checked in around 2pm with a decent size line. I didn't have much hope since one of the largest conventions of the year was in town (SEMA) along with the Pro Rodeo tour, Madonna, the start of the final table at the WSOP and UNLV had a football game. The clerk confirmed the hotel was sold out but layed the $20 on his computer and said he would see what he could do. After a quick search he pulled out his room book and showed me that he had upgraded me to the Augustus tower to a room with jacuzzi tub, flat screen and view of the Bellagio Fountains. I couldn't have been happier - $20 well spent.

Jackpot! Gerald Weissbach Got A Caesars Palace Room Upgrade

We arrived at Caesars Palace at 9pm and there was a dozen people waiting in line to check in.
Our package put us in a 350 sq ft Forum Tower renovated room. There were 5 Front Desk Clerks, 3 were female. Knowing that the success rate was higher with male Front Desk Clerks when I got to the front of the line I waived a few couples behind me through saying I was waiting for my wife so I could line up with one of the two male clerks. She had stopped at a slot machine on the way in. Finally it was my turn - nervously walking up I had a $50 bill folded and sticking out of my passport and my credit card on top. When I got to the counter John (not his real name) said welcome to Caesars Palace and was in a good mood, so I gave John the "Howie Mandell" knuckle greeting. He asked my name and while he was punching it in the computer I handed him the passport,$50 and credit card. He took them, and placed them beside the computer and said lets see what I can do for you. I said that it was our 20th wedding anniversary and with 3 couples meeting us in Vegas I was hoping that the Roman Tower King suite was available so I could do some entertaining. From all the researching I have done, I knew that the key things were to 1) younger male clerk 2)folded bill with credit card and ID 3)know the room you want to upgrade to 4) give the reason why 5) be in a great mood while asking for the free upgrade. John said no problem we can put you in that room as an upgrade, and he asked if I needed change from the $50, which I said no. So we ended up in a 1400 sq ft king suite, Strip view, living room, dining room, 2 bathrooms, huge king bedroom, soaker jetted tub and a steam sauna in the sit down shower. The suite was huge and fantastic. Wow it really worked!

Checked in 9pm, no lineup, just took the next available clerk. Girlfriend had reseved forum tower room through Expedia. I tapped a twenty on counter with my i.d. and asked if any complimentary upgrades were available. He explained that the forum tower was a nice room, but yes, he could get us into a augustus tower room, overlooking Bellagio fountains, rm 3170 (about eleventh floor). He took the twenty and placed it at the base of his monitor and checked us in for 4 nights. Happy with the $20 upgrade; bigger room, better bathroom, nice view. Enjoyed the stay, would go back again.

I had a reservation that included a free upgrade. I found out I was going to be in Palace Tower overlooking the pool. However, I asked for a room in the Augustus tower and was given a room 3x the standard room I had booked with a beautiful view of the Bellagio fountain and that end of the strip. Would definitely do this again. Well worth $20 for $800/night upgrade.
