No Dice For Jordan at Bellagio...

I proposed to my girlfriend this saturday and had the entire weekend in Vegas planned out. When I booked at the Bellagio they upgraded me over the phone from a standard room to the deluxe lakeview room for free. That was nice but when we got there I approached the front desk to check in with my new fiance :-) Gave her the sandwich told her why we were in town, explanined it was our first time here and asked for a complimentary upgrade. Sadly she said no suites were available. I was let down having heard some good stories on here. She could care less, she was just happy I took the big step.

Better luck next time!

Jackpot! Reln Got A Bellagio Room Upgrade

We tried the tip as stated, and after about 5 minutes of checking/talking, was told nothing was available. I advised her to keep the tip (I've known people who try this, then take the tip back, what a bunch of tight-wads!) for her trouble, and she asked me to return the next day. I did, and she had a Salon suite available, which was an amazing upgrade.

So, the message for the tip-retainers out there: be generous, and tip the good folks for the efforts, whether they work or not.

Jackpot! Joe Got A Bellagio Room Upgrade

This was supposed to be a quiet weekend but was worried after hearing there were bigger crowds than anticipated and that some people were relocated to Bellagio after the Monte Carlo fire.

Gave the clerk the $20 sandwich and mentioned it was our 5th anniversary and asked if there were any complimentary upgrades available. After checking he got us a high floor that was available immediately. We also asked for and received line passes for the buffett and cafe. He asked if we were AAA members and I am but didn't have my card with me. He said he'd pretend he saw it and gave us a discounted rate (from the standard we were paying for) that more than paid for the $20 tip. The kicker that REALLY impressed us were the chocolate covered strawberries that arrived to our room free of charge 20 minutes after we arrived. The $20 went much further than we'd even hoped. :-)

No Dice For SG at Bellagio...

We approached the desk to an early 30s black male desk clerk. Just as the site suggests, I slid the $20 across the desk in between my id and credit card politely requesting the complimentary upgrade. The clerk then checked and made a sincere effort to find a better room. Unfortunately, that particular weekend was the same weekend of the Nevada's political caucus. Apparently, the parties of the politicians took up an immense amount of space in the hotel and there were no upgrades available. Damn Billary.

We did, however, try the same thing for my friends across the street at the Flamingo and it worked like a charm. I guess the Democrats prefer to spend more taxpayer money by staying at nicer and higher priced hotels.

Went to the front desk and was directed to the next available agent. Mentioned anniversary and placed DL/CC sandwich with $100 bill sticking out on the counter, then asked for an upgrade to the Bellagio Suite by name, only hoping to get the standard Salone Suite. He didn't seem to notice so I pushed it toward him and said again how much I would love to stay there.

He smiled, typed for a minute and said he had to show something for the upgrade ($10 extra a night) and asked if that was OK. Naturally I said yes, considering it was 3 nights and normally $350 a night MORE than the room I booked. Then I had the audacity to ask for buffet line passes. He just smiled and said sure! The bill disappeared, he thanked me and shook our hands.

The room was amazing, twice the square footage on the top floor, we were floored! I think the fact that we stayed Tue-Fri on a slow week in Vegas helped.

Bellagio was a fantastic hotel, one of the best vacations of my life, I would recommend it to anyone.

Walked in to the lobby and looked for the right clerk, one who appeared friendly and talking to the customer. Found one and waited. When asked for my credit card and ID hand over the sandwich any she began typing away, she didn't even appear to see the twenty. After several minutes I asked if there were any complementary upgrades and she said she was checking. She left for a minute and when she returned she said that she was able to get me into a lake view room. She handed me back my information and the $20. I handed back the tip and thanked her. The view was amazing and the fountain/strip view at night never got old while I was in the room.

No Dice For IB at Bellagio...

Checked in on a very busy weekend around 4pm. Slipped the clerk the $20 sandwich. He noticed it right away and turned it back and forth as if showing a camera. He offered me a few options within the standard rooms (smoking, non smoking) and I asked if there was anything with a fountain view. He was extremely apologetic and said he would love to help me if he could, but they were all booked. Returned the sandwich back to me and was extremely polite, but it was a failure.

No Dice For Tom at Bellagio...

Checked in at the Bellagio around noon. As I applied the $20 trick the reservationist mention that a comp. should not be a problem and proceeded to give us a room with an outstanding view of the fountains. Had hoped for a suite of some kind, since I was celebrating my 50th. But we still loved the room that we received.

Had Id/$20/CC ready to go in my wallet, handed them to the clerk and before I could ask she said she could get me on a high floor with a fountain view. Also, the room was in the north wing away from the construction.

Jackpot! CC Got A Bellagio Room Upgrade

got there at 11am and after standing in line for a few minutes, a female in her early 30s opened a new line. We were just checking to see if we could check in early (confirmation said check-in was 3:30pm) she said that she had a nice room available with a pool view. I aksed her if they had any sort of possible upgrades and she replied that they were $50/night for a lakeview room. after typing for a while, she repeated that it would be $50/night. we both gave her a disappointed look and asked if there was anything else that she could do. she smiled and said, "you mean a complimentary upgrade?" and I nodded. after typing for a few minutes, she said that she would give us the lakeview room and that she would waive the fee. we thanked her and slipped her a $20 as she handed my ID/CC. the room was awesome. 24th floor, right in the middle of the fountains. I'm so glad I found this website!!

Actually gave my licence and credit card first and then put down the 20 and asked if there were any complimentary room upgrades. He seemed like he had been through this many times before and said it should not be a problem, after he offered the lake/fountain view which is great, he asked since that I was very generous to him if there was anything else he could do so I asked for a buffet line pass. That was also no problem and worth the 20 alone since that line up would have taken over an hour. Great hotel, will be back.

I bet $20 would have worked, but I slapped $40 in the sandwich, since we were there on a 4 night vacation. I asked for a tub w/ jets, was offered a lake view room (no jets) or one w/ the bath as requested. Ended up being upgraded from a standard room to a corner "suite" (suite was printed on the door, although room looked pretty standard to me). front desk clerk acted like it was everyday business to get tipped for comped upgrades. Success!

Checked in early at around 12 noon on a Sunday. Handed over the sandwich (I normally hold onto the $20 and hand it over if successful, but took the tip from this board to do the sandwich) and asked if there were any complimentary upgrades available.

The clerk said, "I'm sure there are!" Tapped away and said we had been allocated a lake view room on the 20th floor. I was just delighted as we were already on a promo rate of $179.

Thanks to all on this forum.

Gave the tip to the clerk (mid 20's asian female), and explained that me and my fiancee were getting married that weekend. (Seemed like she may have upgraded us because of that, even without the tip, but she didn't refuse it after asking if it was for her.) The clerk upgraded us from a standard room to a deluxe fountain view room on top of the Spa Tower, which was great! Definitely worth the $20.

Jackpot! Thankful Got A Bellagio Room Upgrade

I read several responses and felt prepared to give it a try. Was Kinda' nervious but thought, "I'm in Vegas lets gamble a little." I approached the counter with $20 between my DL and CC, presented it and asked if I could get a comp. upgrade because of my anniversary (really was). "The Associated" was extremely nice and helpful! "The Associate" typed on the computer and spoke on the phone for a bit. The Associate placed the $20 on the counter in front of us, and I was advised that there was a deluxe fountain view non-smoking king room available, but approval was needed get the room released. I waited about an hour before the room was ready. I located the room on the 25th floor directly in front of the fountain with an outstanding view of the strip. I also recieved a restaurant pass to the Buffet and Cafe Bellagio, which allows you to go to the front of the line. We were extemely pleased with the room. Channel 31 on the television allows you to hear the music while watching the fountain show. Just a little advise. If you can't get a room upgrade, it's worth the price of admission to get the Buffet pass alone. That line is unbelievably long! My stay at Bellagio was exceptional!! From "The Associate" to the maid staff. It was top notch.
