I checked in early and gave the clerk a $50 "sandwich". The agent returned the sandwich and said they could not "upgrade" the room for me. I asked for a manager. Tried the same trick with the manager and recieved a penthouse suite, which was far more than what i had expected. Great stay at the Bellagio!

Unbelievable! I used the casual sandwich trick on the staff and on a slow night I was upgraded!! AMAZING!!! My suite even overlooked the infamous Noodles Restaurant in all its chinese food glory! And I even brought some fortune cookies back to the clerk that checked me in and he was so happy!! (remember this guy: he had slicked back nasty hair)

Giving away suites for $20 must the best feeling in the world. Because the clerk I spoke to gave me a freebie upgrade with the "$20 trick". I checked in around the late morning at Bellagio and thankfully they had suites ready and clean. The young gent also gave me a front of the line pass for the Buffet. People don't care about a place that doesn't care about them. That's why the $20 in the clerk's pocket is better than $200 in the company's. Thank you to the employees that keep Vegas the way it should be!

Thanks to this site, we decided to try the "sandwich" for our first ever stay at the Belaggio. We did a $50 tip as we were staying there for 6 days. We met an older lady at the front desk and when my wife gave her the sandwich she started vibrating. She explained this hardly ever happened to her. Well, long story short, we started with a 4th floor std deluxe room that she said overlooked the pool. With the tip, we were suddenly offered a salone suite on the corner on the 7th floor, or a lakeview deluxe on the 17th floor. She said the suite was bigger, but it was right beside the City Center construction. We opted for the 17th floor and then asked for a couple of line passes for the buffet. She walked into the back office and returned with a line pass for the buffet AND the cafe good for the whole week! She got our keys ready, but as she did, she noticed more rooms were coming available. She checked again and we ended up getting 25th floor with the same lakeview deluxe room. She was so nice she gave us her phone extension and said to call down if we did not like the room. WE LOVED IT!!! SUCCESS!!!
As a side note, to those idiots that have wrecked this site by pretending to be, or are disgruntled front desk attendants, I say "get a life!" As for tipthefrontdesk, I'm checked it out and assume that site is run by the same morons who have tried to wreck this site. There is nothing of any value there. A big thanks to the people who run this site.

This website may work at some hotels and not at others. It seems as though the Bellagio hotel has caught on to this website and is not giving any upgrades for free. Tried giving the clerk the "sandwhich" and asked for a free upgrade. The clerk advised me, Im sorry, we dont offer free upgrades. However, I can upgrade you to suite at a speical rate. I asked the clerk what's a special rate and the clerk advised me every now and then the hotel offers suite upgrades at a discounted rate when ever business may be slow. I did not take advantage of the special rate and took a standard room on a high floor over looking the pool. The clerk did give me back the $$ which was nice. The Bellagio is a very nice hotel.

Checked in about 1pm on a Sunday. Placed a $20 in between my id and credit card....the guy offered me a partial view room in the Spa Tower or a lakeview room on the 7th floor. I could have had a higher lakeview room if we had waited for 2 hours, but took the 7th floor room. Great view.....very happy and all for £10!!!! It works, don't listen to people who say it does not!

I stood in the lobby and looked for someone young and friendly. I walked up to a window with a pretty young asian girl. I gave her my cc and a 50 and asked for an upgrade. She separated my money with my cc and asked for my id. She said that they did have upgrades available but they were on special rates. She started explaining the different suite types available and the rates that went along with it. I wanted a free upgrade and she said there were no free upgrades, apologized, and gave me my 50 back. I thought the tip would work but it didnt. I got what I booked for so was a little dissapointed but she was really nice. Just for not trying to "hustle" me, I still gave her the 50. She refused but I thanked her anyway. Maybe it was a busy weekend?

My experience at Bellagio was THE hottest time I've ever spent in Las Vegas. I checked in with this really cute young boy at the front desk (I saw him wink at me so I winked back). I used the "meat between the buns" trick with an honest Abe Lincoln hoping for a really HOT upgraded room. I was astounded by the room I was given! Right across the hallway from the utility doors, so I could watch all of the HOT male employees shuffling back and forth through the peep hole. The toilet was also very clean! Thanks frontdesktip! Yay! ;)

I checked in with a very nice supple young gentleman. I used the tried and true "sandwich" maneuver with a $20 bill between my ID and credit card. I was astounded with the room I recieved. The clerk had upgraded me to a delightfull smoking room on the 8th floor facing the "O" theater. The toilet was also very clean which made the $20 well worth the upgrade. :)

I was traveling from the UK to experience the majesty of Bellagio. I arrived at the front door and was warmly greeted by the Valet personell. As I waltzed through the lobby, the front desk staff admired my sash as I made my way to the front desk. I met the young man in front of me and asked him for the "Saturday Night Special" looking for a free upgrade of course with a "Sandwiched $20 bill". The trick of the trade worked and I was upgraded to a room overlooking the majesty of the "O" theatre and all of its glory!. I thank thee frontdesktip with all of the great tips you give to us!

Very useful tip! Did $20 sandwich which was accepted readily. Front desk clerk worked very hard to get us a requested suite but could not. Gave us deluxe lakeview on 28th floor instead, and then commented that first night's rate ($359) was too high, and reduced it to $199. We then asked for the line pass which was given very willingly. Thank you

Checked in on the Saturday morning before a conference. Scanned the check-in staff and picked a younger guy. Handed him my license and credit card and held a 20 in my hand on the counter and asked if there were any complimentary upgrades. He took about 30 seconds, said we could have a room on the 18th floor right in the middle overlooking the fountains.
Easily the best $20 I've ever spent!

The girl offered us a standard room with a view of the fountains/strip or a Tower Deluxe Room with a panoramic view on the 24th Floor - which we took!
Amazing room with an awesome view, Fountains/Flamingo/Bally's/Paris out the front, and all the way to the MGM from the side and bathroom windows.
I will do the $20 trick always from now on.
