Bellagio Hotel Room Upgrades

No Dice For Neil at Bellagio...

A bit disappointed that we stayed at two hotels during our stay, firstly the Hilton where this trick worked like a charm and secondly the Bellagio where it didn't! I used the system described on here and targeted the twenty something friendly looking girls at the check in desk but unfortunately their lines were moving slowly and a position opened up with a rather harsh looking woman wearing a lot of make up and expensive looking jewellery which did make me think I maybe out of luck straight away as she didn't look as if she really needed the extra money! I handed her the credit card / drivers licence sandwich with $20 in between which as she took she didn't see the money in between and it fell out rather awkwardly as she was reading the credit card number. She immediately realised what I wanted but just explained that because we were already booked into a suite there was nothing she could. I asked if she could get us a room with a view which she said no they were all fully booked although she did check what the next available upgrade would be but it was a Penthouse which she did offer us as a paid upgrade but explained it was incredibly expensive! To be fair I heard that the hotel was at 98% occupancy during our stay so it is likely that there were no options available to her. I do think if we had booked a standard room that she may have bumped us to a view or an upgrade but when it comes to suites they seem to have less autonomy. In hindsight maybe I should have offered a bigger tip as well as from reading on here $100 seems to work better when dealing with the higher priced rooms! She did give back the $20 though so nothing lost, I would still try it again.

SHE WAS DEALING WITH A COUPLE FOR A LONG WHILE. I COULD TELL SHE WAS UPSET FROM THIS. WENT UP TO HER SAID HELLO AND ASKED HER IF SHE WAS DOING WELL. SHE APOLOGIZED FOR THE WAIT I GAVE HER THE MONEY AND SHE SAID I CAN HELP YOU OUT. SHE GAVE ME AN OPTION FOR A BIGGER ROOM, OR THE VIEW. I TOOK THE VIEW AND IT WAS GREAT. SHE WAS A SWEETHEART. IT WAS A 250 DOLLAR UPGRADE FOR 30 BUCKS.

Checked in with my wife and sandwiched a $20. Told him we were on a "babymoon", my wife is expecting. hotel was really busy and while we didn't get a suite we were dead center on the fountain. Obviously, $20 well spent.

My wife reserved a basic room for our stay at the Bellagio online ($159 to $199/night). My wife then told me to read this website about tipping the front desk clerk. I said "what the heck." We were staying 3 nights. I looked for a younger male clerk. I placed a $100 bill between my license and credit card. I told him it was our 10th year wedding anniversary (which it was) and asked him if he could upgrade us to a suite with a fountain view so that I could surprise my wife. He looked at the bill and then said that he found a suite with a water view. We went to the room and it was a salone suite which was 800+ square feet with two windows in the main room (one looking out to the fountains and the other looking down the strip). The third window was in the bathroom looking down the strip too. It was the best $100 that I have ever spent. The room was grand. My wife and I turned the two chairs around and watched the fountain show (many times)with the TV turned to channel 22. The salone suites are at the end of the hallway---a long walk but worth it as you only had one neighbor. The Bellagio was great. The weather was HOT.

No Dice For HDS at Bellagio...

Checked in at about 2pm with no queues. A very nice clerk said we looked tired (11 hour flight does that to you!) Asked if there was any chance of getting a lake view room. I'll give him credit he typed away on his computer for about 5 minutes then went and spoke to someone else. In the end told us he couldn't help us today however to come back on Sunday and he would try again.(We were staying for 2 weeks but after a few days we couldnt be bothered with the hassle of repacking and moving after 5 days) Room was lovely with a view of the pools. Would try again next time.

Saw this site online and thought I'd give it a try as we were going to Vegas for 4 nights and had nothing to lose...

Checked in on a Monday afternoon about 3:30 and was greeted by a female about 30-35 yrs old. Gave her the $20 sandwich, and asked if there were any complimentary upgrades available. She took the $20 and placed it back on the counter in front of me and started telling me that they didn't have anything with a view of the fountains, but that she might be able to get me a partial view in the spa tower (the "annex" building if you will that is next to the Bellagio main tower. I said that I was very disappointed and was hoping to get a nice room as it was our 15th anniversary. Just kind of chatted with her for a while and eventually she said that "something just came open" and that I'd be happy. Well, it was a corner room on the 21st floor with a view of the fountains through one window and a view of the strip on the other window. Very nice room. Definitely worth the $20 as this room was 1.5 to 2x bigger than the standard room and had an awesome view. Also jacuzzi tub and electronically controlled window blinds!

Booked a room for 3 nights at super low rate of 179 per night which included July 4th. Noticed room rate went down to 159 per night and got the new rate. Checked the morning of my departure date and it was showing the hotel as being sold out as the day before the 159 room rate for the 4th of July was up to 600 dollars now so I didn't have too high hopes of upgrading. Checked in just before 3pm and it was not busy at all. I got in the line which a young attractive blonde was manning and was going over my line to give her only to be directed towards another associate who was free which kind of threw me off for a second. I had my credit cards and DL with the 20 inside and with my wife beside me we approached the associate. I handed her the sandwich and she seperated the CC and ID and the 20 disappeared quick. I mentioned to the associate that my wife and I were celebrating our 5th anniversary (which was true) and asked for a complimentary upgrade, she tapped away for a few minutes and then told us we would be on the 28th floor and didn't mention if we would have the fountain view or not and nor did I push the envelope any further with her as my wife was a bit uncomfortable with the whole process. We got to our room and my first reaction was "WOW" we were centre of the fountains with an impeccable room, the view could not of been better. We left for dinner and upon returning to our room there were some chocolate covered strawberries and a few bottles of bottled water (we had brought our own alcohol which was on the table otherwise we might of got that as well!!) This is the first time I tried the sandwich and it was the best 20 dollar gamble you can take in Vegas. The associates behind the counter can make anything happen for you. Be polite, smile, genuine and have the sandwich ready. Good luck.

Checked in with a younger woman working the front desk. Gave the $20 sandwich, was surprised that she took the money and set it right on her keyboard in plain view. She very nicely showed me a print out of where my room would be. It was the first elevator stop for me (floor 12) not right next to the elevator or ice machine (nice) and had a great view of the strip. She kept the $20 and I said thank you. The strip view was possibly the best view you could get of the fountains and strip ..took many pictures, girlfriend loved it.

spent 3 days in vegas in late feb, totally awesome...wife and i checked in with Jody and gave her the sandwich. she got friendly after she saw the Bills got quick to get us an upgrade and now we will definitely look forward to our next visit to ole sin city

No Dice For Kicked off property at Bellagio...

I was told it was a bribe, when I laughed and said "Aww come on.. just looking for an upgrade here" the desk person walked away, went over to a radio and called security. I was escorted off property and told that next time I would be 86ed off the casnio floor for good.

They didnt charge my card for the room and I had to go over to the Hard Rock to get a room for the week.. I was lucky to get that.
