Checked in around 3pm on a Monday and had a male clerk probably closer to 30yrs old.

Slipped him the $20 sandwich and mumbled "Do you have any complimentary upgrades? Something nice with a view?" He put the sandwich down and I was watching it to see if and when he would pocket it. I swear to god I glanced away for like 2 seconds and it was GONE (must have been a sandwich veteran).

No chit chat - just waited patiently to see what he had for me. He hooked it up w/ a view of the fountians/lake right in the center. I read the reviews of people getting upgraded to suites and hopefully I'll get one at whatever place I try it next! Will grease the front desk people from now on... definitely worth it.

No Dice For Jeff at Bellagio...

I did not receive an upgrade. I checked in with a male and while there was not a long line. I handed the clerk my id and cc with a $20 bill and inquired about any upgrades. He left the $20 on the counter and proceeded to show me a notebook with various room upgrades that I could have for an additional cost per night.

My two colleagues checked in next to me at the same time and were both upgraded to a corner room.

No Dice For A. S. Sandler at Bellagio...

I followed the tips and suggestions... The clerk did not seem to know anything about what I was doing. He actually handed me the folded 20 back with no clue. I was there for my Anniversary with my wife, mentioned that and that got me nowhere either. I was offered to call back a few hours later and pay for an upgrade to a suite or other room. No Front Desk Tip here!

No Dice For Ted at Bellagio...

I had two rooms booked so I tried $40. She removed the license and credit card, but left the tip on the counter. Said they were sold out. Oh well, it's worked for me in Vegas and Orlando, I'll try again.

Checked in at 11:30pm, walked up to the clerk, slipped the $20 sandwich between my I.D and C.C. noticed my wife turned around and tried to dig a hole. The clerk asked me very nicely what i was looking for? i replied any upgrade available. The nice lady checked and the results were a Junior Suite....SUCCESS!!!

Checked in at 3pm, slipped the $20 sandwich, the female clerk said the hotel was very busy for the weekend and cannot placed the two booked rooms on the same floor if we wanted an upgrade. We asked for linepass instead but she said the management don't give out linepass except for suite customer. Later, we gave up getting the same floor so she spend almost 5 mins to search for a better room, she finally offered one end of the hallway 23rd floor tower deluxe king room. We happlily accepted and also asked if the tower deluxe king qualify for the buffet linepass, she gave it to us this time.

Ive never stayed at Bellagio before, but have stayed on the vegas strip before. I have used the $20 trick before, but I was a little nervous doing it at such a prestige property. I went to a latina lady, with over exaggerated make up at about 9pm. Gave her the credit card and ID with a $50 in between, she asked me what i was looking for and I told her a nice suite. She worked her magic and gave me a suite in no time. Gracias Alma!

Las Vegas is the perfect vacation for the gay male crowd, and Bellagio was a deligtful choice by my hot counterpart Sven. We went to the front desk and spotted a clerk who looked like he was a fellow card carrying member of "our crowd". I secretly slipped him a $50 bill into his soft hand and gave him a little wink. I think he knew to upgrade the room from the tip (I wished he came with the room too! Hee hee!). The room was totally fabulous, overlooking the fountains and all!! The toilet was also very clean!! :)

No Dice For Richard at Bellagio...

I did a $100 sandwich to the check in clerk and asked for the Bellagio suite. The clerk stated that due to management restricting certain rooms she was unable to meet my request. I asked for the front desk manager and was greeted by a young lady with frizzy curly hair. She told me I had to pay for the upgrade. I asked for her boss, and an ashey african american women came out. She said, No! I asked for her boss, and an elderly lady came out. She never looked at me but mumbled something and then walked away. I never recieved the suite. It seemed like there were some big problems at the front desk. Will try this trick again at another hotel.

What a great room! We had a basic room reserved at the Bellagio, gave the young man at the front desk the sandwich with the $50 clearly visible, and told him it was our 10th anniversary (which it was). He smiled and said, "I have something very nice for you." He was right! We got a Salone Suite on the 16th floor of the Spa Tower, fantastic view of the pool area out one window, good view of the Rio and mountains out the other.
Only one disappointment: when we asked for line passes he apologized and said that they can only give them out to customers who reserved suites ahead of time. Oh well. It was still $50 VERY well spent.
