Week of Global Gaming Expo. Very difficult to get a room. I book online two months prior and arrived around noon. There wasn't a check-in line, yet. I was helped by a duo, one obviously in training. When I asked if there were any complimentary upgrades and had the ID/$20/CC out, the trainer stepped in to handle the situation.
She seemed genuinely sad that she was unable to get me a jacuzzi suite but managed to get me an over-large room near the top floor of the North Tower, looking North. If it weren't for the new Venetian tower, I would have had an excellent view of the demolition of the Frontier that night.

Not a significant success, but enough for us for our first try! Upgraded to a diamond room on the 24th floor (only real difference in the room from other North Tower rooms was the coffee maker which we didn't use) but nice view from a much higher floor than we normally get (usually on the 9th to 12th floor). Room seemed slightly larger as well but Bally's rooms are quite large anyway.

Checked in at noon, 2 rooms required, when the nice young man asked for cc and id, casually asked if there were any complimentary upgrades to the North Tower, he replied I am sure I can help you. Never even saw where the $20 even went. Got one room on the 9th floor and one on the 15th floor. Really happy, 2 room upgrades with one $20 tip. Bally's is a great hotel I would go back.

Checked in late Friday night - gave clerk cards & $20. He asked if I needed change, and I said no but could you check if any upgrades are available?
He gave us a wonderful Executive Suite! Room was actually two huge rooms - a living area with two sofa seating areas(one with big TV), dining room for 6, wet bar with fridge, and bathroom. Second room was bedroom with king size bed, big TV, two full size sink/counter areas (no fighting for mirror space with hubby here!), wonderful soaker tub sunken into the floor, full size shower (with a shower head placed high enough for a normal size person!!), another toilet and a separate bidet room! Was almost too nice to leave every day! Combined rooms probably 1000 sf - Lovely!!

This is my 2nd time doing this. First time worked like a charm. I'm guessing it was because it was Halloween weekend and everything was booked. The lady just handed the money back with my credit card and said there's nothing "complimentary" she could upgrade me to. In the end, I still got my way by upgrading to a comped celebrity/executive suite for a night. When you have double doors and a fitness center, you know you hit the jackpot!

Awesome deal...checked in and slipped over $10 asked if they had something special... she leant over and said, I have upgraded you to a full suite. She then proceeded to show me the brochure with all the features of the suite... it was an amazing 3 NIGHTS.

Believe it or not check in was pretty busy and the higher platinum check in clerk took care of us. (We are both gold members) We talked a little bit and when she took the credit card I had the 20 poking out a bit. She dropped it and then put it on her key board. She was going to get us a very nice room with a great view but it was not cleaned yet so she got us another room. We were on the 24th floor facing the pool and mountains with an almost strip view of MGM, Mandalay Bay, Hooters, Planet Hollywood and such. The room was large and one was just a huge window. We had to have two beds soo that was a great room for us.

Checked in 9/21 after a long stressful trip at the airport that included an 8 hour delay. Met a very attractive 19 year old female clerk. Stuck a $20 tip between my CC and DL. She immediately bumped me up into a suite and I was very impressed with the room.
It was just about time for her to get off work, so she helped me to my room and showed me where everything was.
The next thing I know, she ordered up complimentary champagne, and we started flirting.
She didn't leave my room til the next morning.

Checked in at the hotel around 9pm. Sandwiched the 20 between CC and Driver's License. I handed it over and asked "do you think you could look into an upgrade to the North Tower?". I have never seen a 20 disappear so fast. It went into her pocket, she was very thankful and started looking. She ended up going back into 'the room' like 2-3 times so I thought I was going to get stiffed. She really wanted to put me in a suite or something with a view but I wasn't staying in the South tower due to reviews I have read elsewhere.
In the end, she gave me what I wanted, a North Tower room with 2 queens, on the 22nd floor, looking out towards Wynn. She also gave me a huge # of line passes for lounges, clubs, etc.

Checked in at the Airport 8 pm and got a Mini Suite in the South Tower. Room was large - 800 square feet with soaking tub but disapointed that the room needed to be updated with newer furniture. See happy with our upgrade.

Slid the desk agent a $20 along with my CC/ID and asked about complimentary upgrades. He looked totally confused and said "Actually, all our upgrades are $100 a night." He already had my money, and proceeded to take FOREVER to check me in. He did say if I didn't like the room to come back down and ask for something else. The room was awful so I returned right away, and got a room in the new tower, but still no upgrade. And he did NOT return my $20.

I WAITED AND THE LADY BEHIND ME SAID YOUR UP ,I DIDNT WANT TO GET THE NEXT AGENT SO I TOLD HER TO GO AHEAD AND SHE GIVES ME THE RIOT ACT !!???????? I WENT INTO MY DONT PISS THE LATINA DIVA OFF MODE AND SAID AM WAITING FOR THE AGENT I WANT TO SEE!!!!!!!! ANY HOO THE AGENT I WAS WAITING FOR WAS FREE, HIS NAME WAS MIGEL, I TOLD HIM I WAS WAITING FOR HIM CAUSE HE WAS TOOO CUTE TO PASS BY!!!!! LOL!!!!!!!! YES AM A COUGAR!!!!!! I typed a "YES" on the July 8th too. A few hours after checking out on the 11th we found out our plans had changed and wanted to extend our stay in Vegas. We rebooked a room for 2 more nights and tried the trick again. This time we were upgraded to a Jr. Suite (newly remodeled)!!

Talked to the front desk lady and she stated that the only room available was either two twin beds or one small room with a queen size bed. I asked her if there were any upgrades available and she stated that there wasn't...that is when I flashed her the $20. All the sudden she found us this room with a great view and a king size bed.
