I did alot of research about free upgrades and was really excited when I found this site. Went to Bally's without a reservation and gave a gentleman a $20.00 and asked if he could make sure he did his best for me. There was another site tipthefrontdesk and another called
thetwentydollartrick. Great tips, but it seemed like the hotels were catching on for a minute. I guess I got lucky, cause I was put on a high floor with a nice view of the eiffel tower and I could see the fountains from my room. Well worth the money. Thanks, cause this site gives the most actual accounts of free upgrades working.

Scouted out for a young clerk, wedged in the $20 between my CC and driver's license, and voila! We got upgraded to a suite with a view of the Strip. Well, Bally's doesn't have great views, but we got a decent one of the Bellagio fountains. Will definitely try this trick again!

No Dice For NJ to Vegas at Bally's...

Checked into Bally's. Was originally assigned older room in the South Tower. Tried the $20 trick, asking about upgrade but told upgrades were $25 a night. Asked what I wanted so I said I'd rather be in the North Tower and she switched my room to what I believe was a deluxe room. So I sort of got the upgrade plus saved $20.

When asked if I needed change for my $20, I fumbled a bit but asked and received an upgrade to a North Tower Diamond Room Great view.

I booked a Rewards offer of 4 nights free + free portable DVD player in a CLASSIC room. On arrival I placed a $20 between my cc and license. I asked for a complimentary grand suite upgrade and was told NO before she looked. She said that there are no FREE COMPLIMENTARY upgrades.

When she looked at the system she found a suite for first night free and then $100 per remaining night for the upgrade. I declined, she looked some more and found us a north tower re-furbished room at the same rate we booked. She kept trying to tell me it was a SPECIAL room that are made for DIAMOND players. I didn't buy it then and don't now. But felt that my $20 was well spent and the positive Karma set me up to win $1500 during my stay! Woo Hoo!

Based on some of the comments and photos on other websites we got a very nice room for 4 nights a free DVD player and $45 dollar meals comped based on my play. We had a great time. And I also want to add that every employee we interacted with was pleasant, courteous and friendly!

We love VEGAS! And Bally's is in a great locations

said she would put me in a mini sweet, and at first i thought i was in one, but when every one else that was staying at the hotel saw my room they said theres were exactly the same. it was a very nice and large room however i was hoodwinked into thinking i got something i didnt.

Checked in on Super Bowl Saturday with a reservation for the cheapest room in the un-remodeled (I think North) tower. Arrived around 8pm, and waited at the front of the line for 5 or so minutes.

Smiling, I made my best small talk about football and being busy, and then handed over the sandwich with a small corner sticking out. Before I could say anything about an upgrade, the clerk smilied, and in an unsure tone said "I'll see what I can do for you". She then wrote some potential numbers down, and eventually gave me the choice of un-renovated with a view, or renovated with no view. Based on tripadvisor reviews, and looking at photos, I took the remodeled. She thanked me, and I'm 2 for 2 with this trick.

There was only one male clerk on shift among many women at the front desk. We looked up and he saw us fumbling with the $20 and the driver's license and credit card while we were standing in line. He stepped away from his computer and did not take any more guests until we were at the front of the line. As soon as we reached the front, he called us over. With the $20 now securely in between the cards, he upgraded us to a Premium Room in the North Tower on the 21st floor with a view of the Bellagio Fountains.
