5 Great Places To Watch Football On The Vegas Strip

Posted on Categories Activities

Football fans know that watching and wagering on football games in Las Vegas is the pinnacle for a sports fan. In part, this is what makes visiting Las Vegas during football season so great. The popularity of football in Las Vegas and the technology of mobile sports wagering is allowing football fans the ability to watch and wager on the games beyond the sports book.

The popularity of the game means that more bars and restaurants are showing the games than ever before. Mobile wagering allows for anyone with an account to wager wherever they are in Nevada. As great as the traditional experience may be there’s no longer a need to sit in the sports book all day like there used to be.

You can now grab a bite and drinks while the games are on and still place that halftime wager without leaving the table. You can even whack a few golf balls in between placing wagers. What a great time to be alive! Here’s a mixture of bars, restaurants, sports books and other places where you can, and should, watch football on the Vegas Strip.

The Mirage Sports Book

There are many non-traditional places to watch the games but there’s still nothing better than the experience of a huge sports book. The Mirage sports book has everything you’d want from a sports book. This sports book has plenty free general admission seating along with reserved seating (that will cost you). There more big comfy chairs than other sports books, but chances are that they’ll be full well before kickoff. The crowd here is huge and full of energy and standing room only if you arrive after 9am. Visit Westgate, Red Rock or Green Valley Ranch if you’re looking for a large sports book experience off the Vegas Strip.

Tag Bar

Let’s start by saying that this is one of the best beer bars on the Vegas Strip regardless on what’s on TV. There are over 200 bottled and canned beers available here. Many of those beers can be acquired complimentary when playing video poker or with a drink ticket from a sports bet. Tag Bar is a relatively small sports bar but there are usually some seats available, even after kickoff of the games. The Linq has a mobile betting kiosk in case you want in bets without walking away from the bar.

PBR Rock Bar

If you’ve walked by Planet Hollywood before then you’ve probably noticed a good sized crowd sitting outside eating and drink. What you probably don’t know is that there’s a pretty large bar and restaurant inside. Unlike some bars on the Vegas Strip, PBR Rock Bar has satellite TV and shows all of the games. The food is good and they serve tots with everything. We should all be so lucky to live in a world with football and tots.

Lagasse’s Stadium

There was a day when this would be the first bar/restaurant/sports book to watch football on this list. The concept of Lagasse’s Stadium at The Palazzo was groundbreaking but they haven’t improved anything since opening. The TV screens haven’t been updated, the food continues to be mediocre at best and the service isn’t very good during football games.

That said, there are still few places like Lagasse’s Stadium in the world. It remains a must-see for any sports fan, even if it’s not for football. This is still one of the most popular places to watch the games on Saturday and Sunday which is why the service is sometimes lacking. You’ll have to make a reservation and will your party will probably have a minimum of $50 per person (you’ll hit that minimum fairly quickly if you eat and drink).

Topgolf

Topgolf at MGM Grand is the most unique sports experience to open in Las Vegas since Lagasse’s Stadium in 2009. The concept of Topgolf begins with the golf driving range games. However, the flagship location is so much more than just games. You can play the golf games and watch football on massive TV’s that you’re hitting into. Likewise, you can watch the games looking the other direction at The Yard where you can eat, drink, wager and watch football on massive TV screens. This is your spot if you’re looking for a unique place to watch football in Vegas.
