Get To Know These 3 Downtown Las Vegas Properties From Boyd Gaming

California Hotel

Last week the Fremont hotel and casino turned 60 years old. The diamond anniversary was celebrated with cake and a champagne toast at the Filament bar near the entrance on Fremont Street.

The Fremont is one of three hotel-casinos operated by Boyd Gaming in downtown Las Vegas but the only one located on Fremont Street. Main Street Station and the California are the other Boyd Gaming properties in the area. Each of the other properties are just a block away from the Fremont Street Experience.

Since Binion’s hotel is closed, Boyd Gaming actually operates a third of the casinos with a hotel (3 of 10) in downtown Las Vegas. Although they’re owned by one company, each property offers a unique experience in downtown Las Vegas. Getting to know the properties should begin with the players club that links all Boyd Gaming properties together, B-Connected.

B-Connected

Boyd Gaming operates seven casino-hotels in Las Vegas and they market them separately. The Fremont, California and Main Street Station are their “Downtown Las Vegas” properties. Gold Coast, Orleans, Suncoast and Sam’s Town make up the “Las Vegas Locals” properties. It’s important to know about the two sectors when looking for discounts and promotional offers.

When you join the B-Connected players club you’ll see that offers for Boyd Gaming properties are linked to each sector. If you frequent on sector over the other, your offers will reflect promotions in that area. For example, if you visit Gold Coast regularly you might see better offers for that and the other locals casinos than you will for the Fremont, California or Main Street Station.

Your points can be used at any property but you won’t see the same promotions and discounts offered at all properties. That said, when you play at one Boyd Gaming property in downtown Las Vegas you may see more offers to try the other properties in the area.

Fremont

The Fremont Hotel and Casino is the only Boyd Gaming property located right at the Fremont Street Experience. That’s enough to differentiate it from the other properties in the area for many. While the other properties are only a 2 minute walk from the Fremont Street Experience, there’s something special about staying in a hotel right in the middle of the action. The casino is always hopping and the older hotel rooms were freshened up a few years ago and rival most properties in the area. The B-Connected offers often help make this one of the best bargains on Fremont Street.

California

The standout feature of the California today is that just about everything is new. Much of the casino floor has been recently renovated, dining options have changed, hotel rooms will be renovated and there’s a new bar being constructed as I write this. You can see more information on the renovations here.

Main Street Station

You get the feeling that you’re in an old wild west train station when you’re in this casino. The things at that make Main Street Station a destination are in the casino and restaurants. The casino has friendly gaming, including the best craps odds (20x) in downtown Las Vegas. The Garden Court buffet is often cited as the best in the area and the 777 Brewery offers their own beer made fresh on site. Good food, beer and gambling sounds like the perfect combination for a great Las Vegas experience.
