Let’s first look at the background on Lucky Dragon. Construction on the boutique casino located just off the Vegas Strip was moving along nicely in 2015. It was the rare occasion in Las Vegas where the project actually seemed ahead of schedule. Things were looking up for the north end of the Vegas Strip. Things came to a screeching halt as construction stopped earlier this year due to a lack of financing.

Well, financing has been secured and Lucky Dragon is expected to open later this year. The new opening date is a little delayed from summer as originally planned. Financial commitments provided by the Fonfa and Weidner families have guaranteed the project will be completed in late 2016.

Lucky Dragon will be a small boutique hotel-casino with just over 200 hotel rooms and a small casino. This will be Las Vegas’ first new themed casino to open in years. Lucky Dragon is set to deliver an authentic Asian lifestyle experience. Everything from the decor to the dining to the casino game will have an Asian flair. Here’s a breakdown of what the property is planning to offer:

Hotel Rooms
There will be 204 hotel rooms at Lucky Dragon. In addition to standard rooms, the hotel will also offer 23 standard suites averaging 625 square feet. The top floor of the hotel will feature a massive 1,300 square foot penthouse suite offering panoramic views of the Las Vegas Strip.

Casino
The 27,500 square foot casino will include approximately 50 table games and 500 slot machines. Table games will be heavily focused on popular Asian favorites such as Baccarat, Pai Gow and Sic Bo. The casino will be laid out such that the table games will surround the huge center bar. There will also be private gaming parlors. For comparison, this will be a little larger than The Cromwell casino floor.

Restaurants
There will be four different Asian restaurant styles. A market will offer breakfast, lunch and dinner. There will be a small, 60 seat, fine dining restaurant that will offer rare Chinese and Asian delicacies. One restaurant will focus specifically on dim sum and Jewel Kitchen will be the only show kitchen in the city that extends directly onto the casino floor.

Tea Garden
This will be one of the truly unique outlets at Lucky Dragon. They plan on offering a tea program that will be among the most specialized in the city. The Tea Garden and lounge will be an indoor-outdoor space. The tea garden decor will be punctuated by a waterfall, oak trees and a shoreline swimming pool.

A spa, pool and a couple retail outlets are also planned to be a part of the development. Lucky Dragon seems as though it will pack a big punch for a small footprint.
