Level Up

Gaming lounges aren’t really new to Las Vegas. Casinos have been offering special sections of their property for certain gambling customers for more than a few years. Whiskey Down at MGM Grand was one of the first bars and gaming lounges. The bar and lounge offers video poker, blackjack and a huger selection of whiskey that you won’t find elsewhere in the massive casino.

The entire casino at The Linq has been developed for customers to enjoy specific sectors of the casino floor. O’Sheas is probably the most popular with its combination of traditional gambling, beer pong, and live bands. Last year Wynn opened the Encore Players Lounge which is intended for its younger customers.

MGM Grand is opening another unique gaming lounge later this month. Level Up opens on December 29th and is geared towards younger, millennial, customers. Level Up is located in the 12,000 square foot space between Hakkasan nightclub and MGM Grand sports book. You may remember this as the Rainforest Cafe space.

“Level Up will be a popular high-energy gaming lounge that will offer our guests and visitors the newest entertainment experience to see and be seen,” said President and COO of MGM Grand Scott Sibella. “Our goal is to create a fun, social atmosphere featuring a variety of traditional games, as well as games of skill, that showcase the industry’s leading technology.”

This will be partially a casino and partially a bar. In that respect, Level Up is similar to O’Sheas. The 12,000-square-foot venue will have a number of unique gaming installations for a casino. Some games include QuadAir Hockey, Bubble Hockey, Sigma Derby, Giant Pac-Man and Connect Four, an arm wrestling table, and more. Level Up will have Las Vegas’ first “LEVEL UP Arena.” This is their version of stadium gambling by Interblock.

LEVEL UP Arena will be a fully customizable gambling experience that will meet the needs of players that are looking to the future of gaming. The 40-seat arena will feature popular casino games in a high-energy environment. You can find a more mellow version of stadium gaming at The Venetian.

Level Up also will introduce the world’s first indoor laser golf course and private lounge to Las Vegas with the Golfstream Suite. This new technology will allow customers to play real-world courses. Players compete on moving greens with laser guidance. The game offers a bevy of interactive putting and other mini-games for players of all skill levels.

In addition to all the gaming and gambling, the lounge will feature the “Live Lucky Bar.” This is an extensive bar with a variety of 24 craft beers and a specialty cocktail menu.

MGM Grand continues to evolve beyond a typical box casino you might find elsewhere in Las Vegas. Earlier this year, you may remember that Topgolf opened their flagship location at MGM Grand. That offers an experience you won’t find anywhere else in Las Vegas.

Level Up is similar to O’Sheas at The Linq but not quite the same. It’s intended for a crowd that doesn’t mind a raucous gaming environment. However, the actual gaming and gambling will not be nearly the same. If you’re curious to learn more about Level Up visit their website and join their mailing list.
